Wounded Mythology is an interactive installation that guides the participant to one of three “wounded archetypes” demonstrating how they interact with the proverbial “wound”. Based on the cognitive filter quiz, I created a questionnaire identifying each visitor’s archetype: giver, guardian, or healer. The visitor then enters a private viewing space to experience an immersive audiovisual representation designed to tap into the subconscious of their wounded subgroup. The goal of this piece is to encourage visitors firsthand to experience and examine both the benefit and problematic qualities of social categorization, specifically as it relates to mental health diagnoses.
